Chatterbox the Rescue Cat is Saved Again

Elisabetta Ferrero was eager to do as much as possible for Chatterbox, the cat she rescued from a construction site. That’s when Ferrero was told about the availability of assistance from the Petco Love grant at the NC State Veterinary Hospital, which covers up to 75% of the treatment costs for qualified clients and their companion animals.

Extraordinary Difference: Dr. Natasha Olby

The Dr. Kady M. Gjessing and Rahna M. Davidson Distinguished Chair in Gerontology, Professor Neurology and Neurosurgery provides Dr. Natasha Olby with critical funding to better understand and care for aging pets. This chair is one of more than 100 endowed faculty positions created during NC State’s Think and Do the Extraordinary Campaign to help the university recruit and retain top researchers and educators from around the world.

A final total of $231,140,770 in donor support eclipses the original $175 million goal by 132%, propelling the College of Veterinary Medicine into a new era of groundbreaking research, advanced clinical care and training new generations of veterinary professionals.

Cindy and Joe felt that a coat of excellence was the perfect way to honor all that “Dr. D” has done to support their Boston terriers.

39 Veterinary Medicine Students Receive 2021-22 Annable Scholarships

The Michele M. and Ross M. Annable Scholarship Endowment is a result of a $5 million gift from the Annables in 2016 that has been matched by $5 million from the Randall B. Terry Charitable Foundation. Chosen based on need as well as a demonstrated commitment to community service, each student receives a scholarship that covers up to half of their tuition and fees.

Terrence Curtin Society Honors NC State Veterinary Medicine’s Founding Dean

The College of Veterinary Medicine’s new Terrence Curtin Society honors the legacy of its founding dean, who passed away in December, while also recognizing the individuals whose generous financial support enables the college to build on his work. Those who annually donate $1,000 or more to the college’s All Gifts Great and Small Fund will automatically become society members.
