Miranda Ludovice Among Inaugural Recipients of the Goodnight Doctoral Fellowship

Miranda Ludovice, a Ph.D. student in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering based at NC State University, has been awarded a prestigious Goodnight Doctoral Fellowship for her research focus in rehabilitative technologies for cerebral palsy patients, as well as her service contributions as a graduate student.

The Park Scholarships program has selected 112 finalists for its class of 2027 based on their accomplishments and potential in scholarship, leadership, service and character. The finalists are invited to NC State on Feb. 17-18 to participate in Final Selection Activities.

Four Poole Faculty Receive New Distinguished Professorships

Four Poole College of Management faculty members were honored recently with distinguished professorships. The addition of Mark Beasley, Jesse Ellis, Jeffrey Pollack and Bill Rand brings the total number of distinguished professors in the college to 15, including Frank Buckless, the Stephen P. Zelnak Jr. Dean of the Poole College of Management.

NC State Names New Murdock Distinguished Professors

Colin Kay and Giuseppe Valacchi, professors at NC State’s Plants for Human Health Institute in Kannapolis, North Carolina, have been named David H. Murdock Distinguished Professors. The professorships are funded by an endowment created by a $2 million gift from David Murdock, former CEO of Dole Foods and other businesses, and a matching $1 million gift from the North Carolina Distinguished Professors Endowment Trust Fund.

Generous Gift From Wolfspeed Extends Palmour Legacy in College of Engineering

The gift is establishing the John Palmour Distinguished Professorship in Materials Science and Engineering as well as the Wolfspeed Endowed Scholarship in Memory of Dr. John Palmour. The scholarship will provide need-based support for undergraduates in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, where Palmour earned his bachelor’s degree (1982) and Ph.D. (1988).
