Anna and Brad Sullivan Make Significant Gift to NC State Baseball Enhancement Project

The future of the #Pack9 and Doak Field at Dail Park continues to be bright thanks to NC State alumni, longtime Wolfpack Club donors and season-ticket holders Anna and Brad Sullivan. This is the sixth major commitment announced for the project, which will impact NC State baseball’s competitive future and enhance the game-day experience.

Bharodiya, Johnson Selected for Inaugural Obama-Chesky Scholarship

Two members of the Wolfpack have earned a new scholarship from the Obama Foundation, which supports students pursuing careers in public service. Krupa Bharodiya (International Studies and Business Administration – Marketing ’24) and Kelis Johnson (Africana Studies – Community Studies ’24) are part of the inaugural cohort for the Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service, also known as the Voyager Scholarship.

Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Dr. Gerald Elkan

Dr. Gerald Elkan, a dear friend of the Park Scholarships program and beloved NC State professor, passed away on Sept. 28, 2022. Friends of Dr. Elkan are invited to gather in Talley Student Union 4280 on Nov. 7 from 4-5 p.m. to celebrate his life before attending this year’s Gerald H. Elkan Distinguished Lecture in Science and Society, which was named in his honor.

Remembering John C. McIlwee

John C. McIlwee, the longtime director of University Theatre, passed away Oct. 2, 2022, at the age of 74. A celebration-of-life gathering will be scheduled in spring 2023 in Stewart Theatre, with his family requesting that donations be made to the John C. McIlwee Theatre Endowment, to benefit the NC State theatre program, in lieu of flowers.

Paper Science Alumnus Establishes Scholarship to Honor Mother

Ed Melton, Pulp and Paper Science and Technology class of 1977, has long wanted to find a way to thank his mother for working so hard to ensure that he got an education. So, Melton and his wife, Judy, have endowed the Frances Melton Scholarship for students majoring in paper science and engineering.

CVM Provides Support During Natural Disasters

The College of Veterinary Medicine’s mobile veterinary hospital and Disaster Relief Fund help care for animals in the aftermath of natural disasters like hurricanes. Last year, the team was able to buy a new mobile hospital with more modern equipment thanks to donations made through the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Foundation.

Two Gifts Benefit Historic Millstone 4-H Camp

One gift from the Farm Credit Associations of North Carolina will support renovating the 80-year-old dining hall at Millstone. A separate gift from James W. Clark Jr. will support the future of learning within the North Carolina 4-H History and Learning Center Complex at Millstone.
