NC State’s Strong Fundraising Momentum Continues

After another outstanding year of fundraising, NC State is closing in on the $1.6 billion goal of its Think and Do the Extraordinary Campaign. Students, faculty, programs and facilities across the university will benefit from $220 million in gifts and new pledges received during the 2018-19 fiscal year that ended June 30.

Hage Named New NCTF Director of Development

Jaclyn Hage has joined the staff at Wilson College of Textiles as director of development for the North Carolina Textile Foundation. In her new role, Hage will connect Wilson College of Textiles alumni, donors and friends across North Carolina, as well as in Portland, Oregon, and New York, with meaningful ways to make a difference. She previously held positions at Poole College of Management and the College of Design.

Ward Promoted to NCTF Executive Director

Michael Ward has been promoted to executive director of the North Carolina Textile Foundation (NCTF), the fundraising arm of the Wilson College of Textiles. A valued member of the NCTF team since 2016, he will continue to connect donors with opportunities to enhance a resurgent textile industry.

Learning to Lead

Over the past year, almost two dozen women at the Wilson College of Textiles, including students, faculty and staff, have benefited from professional development grants through the Ellen Rohde Leadership Initiative. Opportunities including conference travel, workshops, networking and research are made possible through an endowed gift from Rhode, who serves on the North Carolina Textile Foundation Board of Directors.

Hornes: Past, Present and Future

Father and son Chuck and Wesley Horne continued a family legacy begun in 1935 by studying at NC State's Wilson College of Textiles. They help ensure the college's future through hiring NC State graduates at their company, Hornwood, and through philanthropy. The Kenneth W. Horne Sr. Scholarship and Textile Pioneer Scholars Program, which offers need-based scholarships, help create new opportunities for students.
