Poole Alumnus Patel to Open Global Cuisine Restaurant in North Carolina

By day, Sejal Patel '06 serves as the director of pricing for a multinational health information technology and clinical research company, but after hours he is an ambitious entrepreneur about to open his eclectic restaurant, The Nomad. Patel gives back to Poole College of Management by volunteering as a partner to a student project in the Entrepreneurship Clinic.

Creating a Lasting Legacy to the College of Design

Bill Dove, a 1956 graduate of NC State's College of Design, has contributed expansively to the profession of architecture and to his alma mater. A member of the W. C. Riddick and R. S. Pullen giving societies, he has given generously to programs including Caldwell Fellows. In 1999, Dove received an award for service from the Alumni Association for his legacy of voluntarism.

Black Alumni Society Celebrates 40 Years with Gala

NC State’s Black Alumni Society commemorated 40 years since its founding with an anniversary gala on Friday, Nov. 8. Diane and Elwood Becton, who founded the society, spoke about its history. Forty notable alumni, many of whom give back to the university as volunteers and donors, received special recognition for leadership, commitment and service to the society, NC State and beyond.

Networking Lunch Program Helps Students Find Professional Opportunities

This summer, chemistry major Gwen Hopper gained valuable professional experience as a chemical research and development student associate at LORD Corporation in Cary. And the opportunity started over lunch. Hopper is just one of the 111 students who have participated in the College of Sciences’ Networking Lunch Program since its launch in spring 2018. The program pairs volunteer college alumni with current students as mentors sharing professional expertise and answering questions about the workplace.
