“Making Space” Launches Third Season at Libraries

Supported by a grant from the Pentair Foundation, the series aims to confront bias and systemic barriers to inclusion in the STEM fields by presenting the experiences and perspectives of underrepresented groups in science and technology, including people of all identities and abilities. The program also seeks to inspire all members of the NC State community to take on new skills, learn emerging tools and be creative with technology.

AKC and the AKC Canine Health Foundation Fund Advanced Training Program

A $100,000 grant to the College of Veterinary Medicine will fund a three-year residency program in companion animal theriogenology — the physiology of reproduction and reproductive systems — and genetics in dogs.

NC State and Oracle Pilot Big Data Project to Grow Agriculture

Oracle chose NC State to pilot a new program that uses big data to solve grand challenges. As part of the partnership, the firm will give the university cloud credits for five faculty and 100 students – more than a $600,000 value – and will work with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to launch a big data project that focuses on sweet potatoes.
