Ellen Rohde Leadership Endowment Prepares Students for Success

Since retiring from a highly successful career with apparel giant VF Corporation, Ellen Rohde has been dedicated to equipping students at NC State with the workforce skills that will make them successful leaders and major contributors to society. With a $1.2 million gift to the North Carolina Textile Foundation, she recently established the Ellen Rohde Leadership Endowment in the College of Textiles’ Student Life Center.

Student Spotlight: Sarah Bailey

Forest management major Sarah Bailey's recent internship -- supported by the College of Natural Resources Student Assistance and Enrichment Fund -- involved identifying tree species throughout the park and creating new labels and maps that enabled visitors to learn about both trees and biodiversity. The University Scholar gained hands-on skills in other areas including park promotion and visitor interaction, too.
