Supporting Others Through Wellness

Clare Bloss '21 and Katherine Mansfield '20 have enjoyed connecting with others through their work with Wellness and Recreation. Their commitment was recognized when they were named the recipients of the Wellness and Recreation Friends and Family Student Employee Scholarship.

Park Scholarships Announces Class of 2023

The Park Scholarships program at NC State has named 40 students to its Class of 2023. The program brings exceptional students to the university based on outstanding accomplishments and potential in scholarship, leadership, service and character, and it strives to develop and support Park Scholars in these areas. The Park Scholarship is a four-year award valued at approximately $110,000 for in-state students and approximately $200,000 for out-of-state students.

Inaugural Day of Giving Successful for College of Engineering

During NC State's inaugural Day of Giving, the College of Engineering’s alumni, students and friends rose to the challenge and raised $1,972,851 from 1,564 gifts to support innovative research, scholarships, study abroad and more. The college received more gifts than any other college or program and raised the second-most dollars overall.

Two Recognized for Outstanding Outreach and Engagement

Mark Beasley and Jessica Thomas, innovative directors of the Enterprise Risk Management Initiative (ERM) and the Business Sustainability Collaborative (BSC), respectively, at the Poole College of Management, were honored recently for their commitment to teaching, research and public service by NC State’s Office of Outreach and Engagement. BSC is supported in part by a gift from Lonnie Poole.

Study Abroad Spotlight: Talya Rayel Suber

Caldwell Fellow Talya Rayel Suber is studying fashion and textile management and international studies, and she recently expanded her horizons by studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. Suber said the trip opened her eyes to another culture and prepared her for the possibility of living abroad.

Extension Helps Partners With Tailored Solutions for Physical Activity, Healthy Eating

Four North Carolina counties with some of the state’s highest adult obesity rates are quietly gaining traction on solutions. Through NC State Extension’s Health Matters project, they have increased education and access to healthy foods and physical activity and built local partnerships to sustain progress. Supported in part by private donations, NC State Extension extends knowledge from CALS faculty to farmers, families and citizens in every North Carolina county.

Students Honored at Chancellor’s Study Abroad Scholarship Reception

Thirty-nine students who received the Chancellor's Study Abroad Scholarship this year participated in semester-long and summer programs in 15 different countries. They recently spoke of the transformative effect their study abroad experiences had on their collegiate and personal lives at the annual celebratory reception for the scholarship, funded by gifts to the University’s Greatest Needs Fund.
