Farmers talked. University leaders listened. And a revolution in how NC State approaches plant sciences has begun with the official groundbreaking for the Plant Sciences Building on Centennial Campus. The building, funded through a public-private partnership, will help make North Carolina the world's foremost hub for plant science innovation.

Leader Chosen for Plant Sciences Initiative

Entomologist, agricultural biotechnology business professional and commodity leader Stephen Briggs will lead the unique, multidisciplinary research enterprise, housed in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. With broad support from the state's agricultural community and donors, the initiative will break ground on its state-of-the-art facility in 2019.
