Ethan Thompson: Aiding Farmers Through Research

Ethan Thompson ’22 was the recipient of 10 scholarships during his time with the Pack, including the Herbert S. Battie Scholarship Fund, the James B. Hunt Scholarship and the NC State Fair Youth Livestock Scholarship. Now an alumnus of NC State, the biochemistry major is headed to graduate school to earn a Ph.D.

Alex Blanchard: Going the Extra Mile

Multi-scholarship recipient Alex Blanchard ’22 was prepared to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in poultry science in 2021 but realized she wanted a second degree. With help from the Frank R. Craig Memorial Scholarship, the Tom and Louise Morris Scholarship, the TT Brown Memorial Scholarship, the F. W. Cook Poultry Scholarship and more, she graduated this spring with an animal science degree as well.

Leaving a Legacy: Dylan Inman ’22 Makes a Lasting Impression

The political science and sociology double major is graduating this weekend and then off to Indianapolis to work for his fraternity, Theta Chi, as a growth specialist. But as an enthusiastic member of the Wolfpack, Inman says his long-term goal is to find a road that leads back to NC State.

NC DEQ Secretary Biser Presents Grace Baucom ’22 With Environmental Education Certificate

North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Secretary Elizabeth S. Biser presented Park Scholar Grace Baucom ’22 with her NC Environmental Education Certificate on April 20. Grace is earning a double major in extension education and in agroecology and sustainable food systems thanks to help from the Park Scholarships program.

Graduation to Vocation: Heaven Davis is Providing Engineering Solutions

The College of Natural Resources student will graduate this weekend with a bachelor’s degree in paper science and engineering thanks in part to a special student assistance program available in the college. A recipient of the CNR Enrichment Fund, Davis will then work as a support engineer at Solenis in Macon, Georgia.

Myriad Genetics’ CFO Bryan Riggsbee ’94 Named Spring Commencement Speaker

The Poole College of Management has announced Bryan Riggsbee, chief financial officer of Myriad Genetics, as the spring 2022 commencement speaker. Riggsbee graduated from the college with a bachelor’s in accounting and went on to help fund the Riggsbee Family Scholarship Endowment, which enables other NC State students to follow in his footsteps.

TechFides VP Wendy Douglas ’01 to Speak at Jenkins Graduate Programs Hooding Ceremony

The Poole College of Management has announced Wendy Douglas, vice president of operations and enterprise digitization at TechFides, as the commencement speaker for the spring 2022 Jenkins Graduate Hooding Ceremony. Douglas graduated from the college with a master’s in management and has supported NC State’s Extraordinary Opportunity Scholarship Initiative, the Poole College of Management General Scholarship Endowment, the PCOM Faculty Enrichment Fund and other philanthropic programs since then.
