Fellowship Program to Foster Next Generation of Agricultural Scientists

The Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR) announced a $2.7 million grant to launch the FFAR Fellowship Program. An NC State team led by John Dole will manage the program, which is geared toward combining cutting-edge food and agriculture science research with professional development training -- to better prepare graduate students for the workforce.

Researching Ethics in Counseling with an Aim to Help Others

Walter H. Wilkinson Graduate Fellowship recipient Latonya Graham's dissertation explores the understanding and application of the revision to the latest American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics relating to confidentiality and privacy. A background in public health inspired the NC State student's work.

Poole College of Management has named the newest cohort of Jenkins MBA students selected as McLauchlan Leadership Fellows. The 26 new Fellows — chosen from across the full-time, evening and online MBA programs — will receive professional, graduate-level leadership education through experiential learning opportunities, made possible through the generosity of Russ and Cara McLauchlan.

Technology and Complex Details Meet Aesthetics and Usability

Alumnus Junji Kawabe, a Franklin Bost Industrial Design Fellowship recipient during his time in the College of Design, recently received an iF Design Award Gold. Kawabe's two NC State degrees — a bachelor's in aerospace engineering and a master's in industrial design — are proving to be a complementary strength in his career.

Student Strives To Build Safe, Sustainable Apparel Industry

Rejaul Hasan, a recipient of NC State’s Wilkinson Graduate Ethics Fellowship, began Ph.D. study in College of Textiles in 2015. With a focus on sustainability and supply chain, his dissertation research aims to uncover the price point at which garments made in Bangladesh must be purchased to ensure sustainability, safety and fair labor rights.
