New Libraries Gift Supports Students Who Are Passionate About Education

Pete and Theresa Dyke have created the Timothy R. Jenney Memorial Libraries Scholarship, which will provide a partial scholarship to a Libraries student worker from the College of Education, with a preference for those who are first-generation. The scholarship is part of the Libraries’ continuing efforts to support student success and make education more affordable.

A group of first-year College of Education students had the opportunity to travel to Savannah and Washington, D.C., through Mission Makers, a program designed to better prepare them to be educators who address the needs of all learners. The professorship will support the activities of a professor who focuses on teaching the science of reading in early literacy.
