Benny Suggs ’69 is retiring after leading the Alumni Association for more than a decade. Under his tenure, life memberships have quadrupled, support for the Caldwell Fellows program has increased and the organization has won numerous awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Originally formed to connect members to their alma mater, the Black Alumni Society has grown into a tight-knit group linking past, present and future Black NC State students. NC State Alumni Association Leader to Retire

After 11 years at the helm of NC State’s Alumni Association, Benny Suggs has entered into a phased retirement process that will culminate in his departure from the university in December 2022. The Wolfpack alumnus, Navy veteran and former Harley-Davidson executive has made a lasting impact on his alma mater as a supporter, donor, leader and more, serving as a key factor in many of the university’s successes.
