Honoring Charlotte’s Dream

Two students at the College of Veterinary Medicine have received scholarships created in memory of Charlotte Bacon, one of the children who died tragically in 2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Charlotte loved animals and dreamed of becoming a vet.

Ligler Being Inducted into National Inventors Hall of Fame

The Lampe Distinguished Professor in the UNC-NC State Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering, Fran Ligler is one of 15 honorees this year. She is being recognized for her innovative application of emerging technologies in a variety of fields to make optical biosensors smaller, more versatile and more sophisticated - moving them out of the lab and into uses related to food safety, disease diagnosis, pollution control and homeland security.

Jere Confrey Named 2017 AERA Fellow

Jere Confrey, the Joseph D. Moore Distinguished University Professor of Mathematics Education, has been named a 2017 AERA Fellow. She is the first faculty member at NC State to receive this highest honor from the American Educational Research Association in recognition of research contributions to education.
