A Lifetime of Commitment

William O’Brien ’81 created his legacy and boosted NC State’s through his work as an alumnus, volunteer and donor. He’s honoring his experiences with the Caldwell Fellows program by creating a new endowment through planned and current use gifts that will continue serving Caldwell Fellows far into the future.

The NC State University Libraries community mourns the passing of former Libraries Director Isaac T. Littleton, whose many accomplishments included starting the Friends of the Library. Memorial contributions may be made to the NC State University Libraries or the Dorothy Young Littleton Endowment.

4 Questions for NC State’s 4 Churchill Scholars

This spring, Park Scholars Nikhil Milind ’21 and Ana Sofia Uzsoy ’21 were named NC State’s third and fourth Churchill Scholars, following in the footsteps of Park alumni Mia de los Reyes ’16 and Chris Cooper ’17. The Churchill Scholarship facilitates scientific exchange between the U.S. and the U.K. by sponsoring graduate-level study at the University of Cambridge for 15-17 students, including full tuition, a stipend, travel costs and the chance to apply for a special research grant.

Introducing the 2025 Class of Centennial Scholars

The eight members of the 2025 Class of Centennial Scholars plan to study everything from fashion and textile design to textile engineering. Each receiving between $15,000 and $22,000 in scholarships each year at Wilson College of Textiles, they share more about what led them to attend NC State.

Jenkins MAC Welcomes Academic and Firm-Sponsored Fellows

As part of the admissions process, applicants to the Poole College of Management’s Jenkins MAC (master of accounting) on-campus program may be considered for the Jenkins Graduate School’s merit-based MAC fellowships. Students may qualify for an academic or firm-sponsored fellowship.

Butler, Stutts and Washington Receive Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award

Linda Butler, Carl Stutts Jr. and Gregory Washington received the Distinguished Engineering Alumnus award (DEA) from the College of Engineering for 2020. The DEA award is the highest honor the College of Engineering bestows upon its graduates and typically comes with an award dinner in the fall. The 2020 event had to be postponed because of COVID-19, but the college hopes to recognize these winners and its 2021 honorees during a live ceremony this fall.
