Second Annual Library Leaders Scholarships Awarded

NC State University Libraries is proud to announce Julia Velasquez and Chantal Warfield as recipients of the second annual Library Leaders Scholarships. Recognizing exemplary contributions by current students, the $2,500 awards come from the Library Leaders Scholarship Endowment, established to provide support for students working at the Libraries and to encourage students to consider pursuing advanced degrees in library science.

Stuber Retiring as Head of Plant Breeding Consortium

Charles Stuber, who joined the NC State faculty in 1965, has made tremendous contributions to both science and education, and his work has helped lay the groundwork for the Plant Sciences Initiative. He and his wife, Marilyn, also have generously supported the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as donors, including through the establishment of a distinguished professorship.

In recognition of Women’s History Month, Jennifer Martineau and Portia Mount –– authors of the best-seller “Kick Some Glass: 10 Ways Women Succeed at Work on Their Own Terms” –– will headline the Wells Fargo Executive Leadership Series at Poole College of Management. Since 1992, the series, supported by an ongoing gift from Wells Fargo, has provided students and the community with an opportunity to learn from leading executives.
