A Wolf Lifting While Climbing

Courtney Simpson ’05, ’08, ’24, a former president of the Black Alumni Society, earned her bachelor’s degree, master’s and Ph.D. from NC State. Simpson is also the senior director of collegiate programs for NC State’s TRIO Programs, which are devoted to helping low-income Americans gain access to higher education, be successful during college and continue that success after graduation.

Bharodiya, Johnson Selected for Inaugural Obama-Chesky Scholarship

Two members of the Wolfpack have earned a new scholarship from the Obama Foundation, which supports students pursuing careers in public service. Krupa Bharodiya (International Studies and Business Administration – Marketing ’24) and Kelis Johnson (Africana Studies – Community Studies ’24) are part of the inaugural cohort for the Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service, also known as the Voyager Scholarship.

Starr Gibens, April Gonzalez and Kendall Griffith have been named the inaugural recipients of the newly established Angela C. Caraway and Family Scholarship, which targets first-generation, underresourced and rural-background students. Gibens was among the student speakers at last autumn's Red and White Night.
