Three to Receive Watauga Medal

On March 8, NC State will award its highest nonacademic honor to alumni S. Frank Culberson, Charles A. Flink II and James A. Stewart. The Watauga Medal, given annually by the Board of Trustees since 1975, recognizes extraordinary service and commitment to the university.

Recent Graduates Credit Think and Do with Healthcare Startup Success

Malcolm Benitz, Michael Rosenberg and Chase Ballard founded Medicom as NC State undergrads, and now the company is providing a better way for medical providers to safely and securely share patient information. The alumni have secured funding from the Wolfpack Investor Network and were part of the first class to participate in the Andrews Launch Accelerator.

Scott Troutman, a College of Sciences alumnus, is returning to his alma mater to focus on major gifts fundraising. The Jenkins Master of Accounting program, established with the leadership and support of Benjamin Jenkins III, is marking its 25th anniversary. The generosity of alumni and friends of the program is key to ensuring that the majority of students receive some form of merit-based financial aid, including MAC fellowships, scholarships and graduate assistantships.

Bolstered by generous philanthropic support that created initiatives such as the Andrews Launch Accelerator, the Miller Fellows, the Albright Entrepreneur Village and a number of endowed distinguished professorships, NC State has been ranked by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine as a top undergraduate school for entrepreneurship studies.

PCOM Alumnus Keeley Honored at Evening of Stars Gala

Chuck Keeley '85 was honored during Red and White Week as Poole College of Management's Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. Keely shares his expertise during the college's annual Leadership and Innovation Showcase, and he and his family recently established an endowment in the college that will support need-based scholarships in memory of his father, NC State alumnus Charles Allen Styer Keeley ’53.

Anne Clark Hathaway has joined the NC State Poole College Office of Development and External Relations team as associate director of development. She comes to NC State from the North Carolina School for Science and Mathematics, and as a member of Poole's development team, she is focusing on annual giving, signature events and alumni relations.

Bozarth Scholarship Will Help Student Prepare for Post-Military Career

Zack Liptok, a junior majoring in business administration with six years of military experience behind him, aims to open his own business after graduating. Liptok is the first student to receive the Cecil C. Bozarth III Scholarship, which was established in Poole College of Management this summer following the sudden death of the popular supply chain management professor.
