GLBT Center Reflects and Looks Ahead on 15th Anniversary

On Jan. 23, 2008, the GLBT Center opened a new office and officially became a department under the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity. The center provides resources and programming to raise awareness, promote respect and create a culture of equity, inclusion and social justice for LGBTQ+ students, staff and faculty on campus. Donor support bolsters these efforts.

#GivingPack Means GLBT Center Community-Building

After being out in high school and seeing the transformative potential of a LGBTQIA+ community, Ray Ward made sure to connect with the GLBT Center at New Student Orientation when they came to NC State. Support for the GLBT Center Fund helps provide the programs that Ward has found meaningful. They hope that on NC State’s 2022 Day of Giving, which takes place March 23, donors will support the center’s continued growth.

What the African American Cultural Center Means to Me

Kristen Russell, a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in education in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, has worked as a graduate assistant in the African American Cultural Center (AACC) since January 2021. She hopes that on NC State Day of Giving, which takes place March 23, more first-time donors join the AACC’s mission and more people become aware of what the center does for students.
