On March 20, the Wilson College of Textiles community raised more than $3 million to benefit exceptional students, staff, faculty, programs and research. This achievement aligns with a major milestone: the 125th anniversary of textiles education at NC State.

CCEE Receives a Record 333 Gifts Totaling $195,641 on Day of Giving

NC State held its sixth annual Day of Giving on March 20, with the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) topping the College of Engineering Leaderboard with 333 gifts totaling $195,641. The department also received $10,700 from the CCEE Advisory Board for completing a match challenge of 200 gifts.

Jenna Abrahamson Develops Remote Sensing Methods to Predict Flooding

Jenna Abrahamson is a Ph.D. student in the Center for Geospatial Analytics and a recipient of the NC State University Graduate Research Fellowship. This summer, she worked remotely for the Pacific Northwest National Lab as a Ph.D. intern on its terrestrial and aquatic integration team under the Earth and Biological Sciences Directorate.

Brown Family Makes Transformational Gift

Computer Science alumnus and Hall of Fame inductee Tony McLean Brown and the Brown family recently made a $1 million pledge to the department to create a named distinguished professorship, a named graduate fellowship and a named undergraduate scholarship. The commitment was announced as part of NC State’s fifth annual Day of Giving, helping the Department of Computer Science set an all-time single-day giving record with total gifts and pledges exceeding $3.8 million.
