Innovation and Entrepreneurship Students Compete at UF Innovate

Two members of this year’s team are involved in NC State’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship programs, which they credit with preparing them for the competition. Dan Webb is part of the Entrepreneurship Scholarship program and has participated in Mentorship Meetups and Make-A-Thon, and Ben Poovey is a resident of the Albright Entrepreneurs Village and a member of eGarage.

Applications Open for the Andrews Launch Accelerator

The Andrews Launch Accelerator is the product of a $1 million donation from Lyn and Chip Andrews. Through the fund, NC State allocates equity-free seed capital to startups created by students or by alumni who graduated within the last five years. The application will be open until March 31.

NC State’s Entrepreneurship Programs Named Among the Best in the South

NC State’s undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship programs ranked No. 4 and No. 2 respectively for the South, and both were included in the top 25 programs overall. These rankings are based on a summer 2022 survey of more than 300 schools with offerings in entrepreneurship studies and are intended to give future entrepreneurs guidance on the best schools that can help them start their journey in entrepreneurship. Scholarships, the Albright Entrepreneurs Village and post-graduation mentorship and support programs such as the Andrews Launch Accelerator and Miller Fellowship help drive NC State Entrepreneurship forward.

Wolfpack Investor Network Surpasses $15M in Capital Deployed

Demonstrating its crucial role as an economic engine in North Carolina, the Wolfpack Investor Network (WIN) recently announced that it has reached $15 million in investments since its inception in December 2016. WIN, part of the Triangle Venture Alliance, is an organization housed within NC State to connect NC State-tied early-stage, high-growth companies to a group of individual angel investors, most of whom have ties to the university.

Meet Josh Guter — Goodnight Scholar, Entrepreneurship Ambassador and Miller Fellow

While his college career was nothing less than spectacular, Josh Guter said the most valuable tool he received from NC State is the ability to challenge himself and learn how to succeed in a variety of different situations. Private support enabled Guter to do all of that and more while also preparing him for the next extraordinary phase of his life.
