Library of Congress Astrobiology Chair Visits the Libraries

Dr. Lucianne Walkowicz, the chair of astrobiology at the Library of Congress and an astronomer at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, is the 2018 I.T. Littleton Seminar speaker. Her talk will take place Wednesday, July 25, in the Hunt Library Auditorium, and is free and open to the public. The seminar is presented by the NCSU Librarians' Association and is supported by an endowment established to honor former library director I.T. Littleton.

Celebrating Five Years of the College of Sciences

On July 1, 2013, NC State launched its new College of Sciences, bringing together people and programs in the physical, chemical, mathematical, statistical, biological and earth-system sciences. The structure enhanced collaborative opportunities for students and faculty, a convergence vital to addressing many of the world’s greatest problems. Endowment growth of 120 percent is just one of the five-year highlights.

2018 Lulu eGames Winners

On April 5, more than 500 people gathered in Stewart Theatre to see the next generation of entrepreneurs at the Lulu eGames LIVE, NC State's annual startup competition. Awards categories included one made possible by the Daugherty Entrepreneurialism Endowment in partnership with the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology & Science.

Honoring a Legacy

As the longtime director of NC State University’s Caldwell Fellows program, Gerald Hawkins seemed to take all of his students under his wing. Now, many Caldwell alumni are joining forces to bolster the program and honor the legacy of Hawkins — who retired more than a decade ago — by raising funds for his namesake endowment.

Dr. Fred Gallasch, founder of Gallasch Consulting Services, LLC, and his wife Mary Hepler, have established the Dr. Fred Gallasch Endowed Scholarship Fund in the Poole College of Management. The merit-based scholarship will be available for Poole College undergraduate students.
