Investing in Future Designers

Marine Science Professor Named Goodnight Distinguished Chair in Sustainability

The College of Sciences has named Chris Osburn of the Department of Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences as the Goodnight Distinguished Chair in Sustainability. Created in 2024 thanks to a gift from Dr. James and Mrs. Ann Goodnight, the professorship will further Osburn’s leadership in environmental research and discovery, community engagement, innovation and ocean sustainability.

Sharon Joines Announced as Interim Dean of College of Design

Sharon Joines, Ph.D., has been named interim dean for the College of Design, effective July 1. An NC State alumna with three degrees and a faculty member with more than two decades of service to the university, Joines was also a John T. Caldwell Scholar, Merit Scholar, University Scholar and NC Fellow during her time as a Wolfpack student.
