Need-Based Scholarship Initiative Gets $5 Million Boost

NC State’s Extraordinary Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (EOSI) was greatly benefited recently via $2.5 million gifts from alumnus Steve Angel and an anonymous donor. These incredible contributions have bolstered EOSI’s matching-funds pool, inspired others to give and impacted numerous students all across campus.

A Welcome Week for Bells

The Memorial Belltower enjoyed a Wolfpack Welcome Week of its own, and we got a peek. Twenty-three more bells arrived on Aug. 11 as part of the ongoing completion and restoration project — including the very smallest bell that bears the signature Wolfie and measures just over 6 inches in diameter.

If the Memorial Belltower looks different after the removal of scaffolding, your eyes aren't deceiving you. Workers have undertaken a multistep process to pull out dirt and impurities, leaving a visibly brighter, more radiant surface, but this phase is more than cosmetic.
