NC State Couple Donates Land for Natural Resources Education

When Tom and Priscilla Terry decided to donate 138 acres along Broad Creek to NC State, they gave a gift designed to keep on giving to students interested in learning about and managing our natural resources for generations to come. The Terrys also included a provision guaranteeing that if the property is ever sold, the proceeds of that sale will go toward an existing scholarship fund in the College of Natural Resources that the Terrys created a few years ago.

Kanton Reynolds, Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering faculty member and Park Faculty Scholar for the classes of 2023 and 2024, has been selected to participate in the 2024 Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program in Colombia. Known for his dedication to experiential education and global engagement, Reynolds sees this opportunity as a way to further expand educational horizons for NC State students.

Roger Narayan Elected to Fellow in The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society

Roger Narayan, distinguished professor in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering, was recently selected as a 2024 Fellow for The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society during its 153rd annual meeting in Orlando, Florida.

Exchange Program Promotes Positive Youth Development Through Sports

Empowering New Voices through Education and Sport Training, or ENVEST, is a cultural exchange program that aims to improve the capacity of coaches to implement youth soccer programs that increase leadership skill development and promote respect for differences and inclusion among participants. Jason Bocarro, the Owens-Shelton Distinguished Professor of Leadership with a Global Perspective at NC State, is a co-director of the program.

Meet the Brevard Zoo’s New Veterinarian, Dr. Rachel Turner

Rachel Turner is a Park Scholar from the class of 2012 who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in animal science and then attended the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Most recently, Turner worked as the associate veterinarian at the Birmingham Zoo.

Paul W. Mulvey Honored With 2024 UNC Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching

Paul W. Mulvey, Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor in the Department of Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Poole College of Management, has been named the 2024 UNC Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching. The honor is the university system’s most prestigious teaching award, recognizing and encouraging faculty’s extraordinary teaching contributions.
