NC State University Foundation Presents 2023 Godwin, Menscer Honors

The NC State University Foundation’s annual awards ceremony and dinner took place Dec. 7 at the City Club in downtown Raleigh. This year, the foundation presented Trent Ragland with the Jerry and Elizabeth Godwin Red Torch Award and Dellaine Risley with the Darrell and Carolyn Menscer Cup.

Chuck Flink Recognized as One of ASLA’s 2023 Awardees With LaGasse Medal

Charles A. “Chuck” Flink, FASLA, of Greenways Incorporated was recently named one of the American Society of Landscape Architects’ 2023 Honors Recipients. Flink is a committed NC State alumnus, donor and volunteer, including his current service on the NC State University Foundation Board.

Ana and John Davis Start Centennial Fund

For NC State alumni Ana and John Davis ’91, the College of Engineering’s Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) has played an integral role in their personal and professional lives. Ana and John recently donated $50,000 to establish the CBE Centennial Endowment, which will serve as a source of discretionary funds for the department to advance its vision of being a global leader in chemical and biomolecular engineering.

Students who enroll in Entomology 201 to fulfill a science requirement don’t expect such a memorable class, but Clyde Sorenson — a three-time Wolfpack alumnus, a donor and a distinguished professor — has been perfecting his delivery over 27 years of teaching at NC State. Sorenson was recently featured on the NC State Philanthropy Podcast to detail his extraordinary contributions to his alma mater.
