39 Veterinary Medicine Students Receive 2021-22 Annable Scholarships

The Michele M. and Ross M. Annable Scholarship Endowment is a result of a $5 million gift from the Annables in 2016 that has been matched by $5 million from the Randall B. Terry Charitable Foundation. Chosen based on need as well as a demonstrated commitment to community service, each student receives a scholarship that covers up to half of their tuition and fees.

Mini-Grants Crowdfunding Campaign Raises More Than $14,000 for Student Teachers to Equip Their Classrooms

During NC State’s first crowdfunding campaign in October, nearly 90 donors came together to support the College of Education’s Student Teacher Mini-Grants campaign, raising funds for student teachers to equip their classrooms with supplies such as books, science equipment and other innovative learning materials.

Broward College president Gregory Haile delivered the 2021 Dallas Herring Lecture, hosted by the College of Education’s Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research. In the lecture, entitled “Redefining Access: The Power of Proximity,” Haile asserted that community colleges are obligated to develop innovative approaches to being proximate to the communities they are designed to serve in order to ensure equitable access to higher education.
