Now its fifth year, the McLauchlan Leadership Series has benefited more than 100 students enrolled in the Jenkins MBA program at Poole College of Management. The leadership development program began in 2015 and is the result of a gift from from Russ and Cara McLauchlan.

Kenan Fellows Program Grows Partnership with Facebook

The Kenan Fellows Program for Teacher Leadership has received a grant from Facebook to support grades K-12 STEM workforce education in western North Carolina. The grant, which will directly benefit teachers, is part of ongoing work to advance innovation in education and help students build career-ready skills.

Oliver Brooks ’07 on Building Foundations for Success

Oliver Brooks ’07 developed a fascination for business in high school when a neighbor and mentor first explained the stock market to him. Brooks now serves as general manager of the North Texas aggregates business for Martin Marietta, a leading supplier of heavy building materials in the United States. Brooks says his time as an NC State Park Scholar aided his personal and professional growth immensely.

Communication Major Gains Real-World Experience With Library Support

Communication major Katie Gruninger has a passion for helping people. NC State University Libraries recently announced Gruninger as one of two winners of the third annual Library Leaders Scholarships. Recognizing exemplary contributions to the libraries by current students, the $2,500 awards come from the Library Leaders Scholarship Endowment.

Student Transforms Fallen Leaves into Breathtaking Artwork

Meet Katie Brooks, a senior in the Art + Design program at the NC State College of Design with a minor in arts entrepreneurship through the Department of Music. Brooks, also a Caldwell Fellow, regularly uses all kinds of leaves as her artistic canvas. A tree on campus by Park Shops first inspired her to pick up a leaf to paint.

Reedy Creek Equine Farm Officially Opens

The Reedy Creek Equine Farm, a state-of-the-art home for horse reproductive services, recently celebrated its official opening. It joins the Tiffany and Randy Ramsey Equine Sports Medicine Program, which was endowed in 2016 and supports the equine service’s groundbreaking work treating performance-related diseases, as part of an investment in advanced equine care at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine.
