Scoop, Eat and Learn at New Dairy Education Center and Creamery

NC State held a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony and ice cream social Oct. 30 at the new Howling Cow Dairy Education Center and Creamery. Funding and gifts from the dairy farmers, processors and other philanthropic entities were integral in the creation of the new center.

Grants from the NC State University Foundation are supporting development of a Host Homes Program, which will match students facing homelessness or housing insecurity with members of the community willing to open their homes. At the same time, an interdisciplinary partnership with Professor Tom Barrie in the College of Design is exploring what it might look like to provide housing on or near campus.

Wellness and Recreation Center Focuses on Mind and Body

A key feature of NC State's 82,000-square-foot Wellness and Recreation Center, scheduled to open next fall, will be the Mind Body Studio. The dedicated space will allow Wellness and Recreation to offer additional classes and programming to help students manage stress, explore the mind-body connection and lead healthier lives. Donor naming opportunities are available for the studio and other spaces throughout the new center.
