Osborne Scholarship Gives Grad Students Freedom to Focus

Five graduate students in the College of Textiles were recently awarded the Gordon and Marjorie Osborne Scholarship. Established by a gift from the Gordon and Marjorie Osborne Foundation, the scholarship helps recruit a competitive and diverse group of grad students – and helps recipients focus on their studies instead of worrying about how to make ends meet.

These Floating Islands May Improve Water Quality

Park Scholar Dani Winter loves when it rains on campus, because more rain means more data. Since last summer, Winter and fellow NC State student Bryan Maxwell have been using an on-campus research site to evaluate whether floating islands of plants can improve stormwater quality.

NC State Online MBA Shines in Financial Times Ranking

Financial Times once again placed the Jenkins Professional Online MBA program among the top 20 worldwide, at No. 17, in the publication’s 2018 Best Online MBA programs ranking. This is up one spot from 2017, the first time the NC State Poole College of Management program was included in the annual list.

$4.5 Million Bequest to Benefit NC State’s Applied Math Program

An anonymous couple has made a $4.5 million bequest to the College of Sciences Foundation to benefit students and faculty in applied mathematics. The gift commitment, one of the largest ever received by the college, will endow a distinguished faculty chair, an undergraduate scholarship fund and a graduate fellowship in the Department of Mathematics.
