Language Diversity Ambassadors Examine Identity in Dialects

NC State's Language Diversity Ambassadors host to educate people about and celebrate language diversity. Graduate student Jessica Hatcher, whose passion for linguistics was fueled by privately supported undergraduate research, serves as president for the group, which received a mini-grant from the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity. Walt Wolfram, William C. Friday Distinguished University Professor, is among the group's founders.

NC State's Celebration of Innovation and Entrepreneurship honors Fran Ligler, Lampe Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering, as Innovator of the Year. The John S. Risley Entrepreneur of the Year Award goes to Matthew Breen, professor of genomics and the Oscar J. Fletcher Distinguished Professor of Comparative Oncology Genetics, and to Marian McCord, the College of Natural Resources' associate dean for research.
