Charles Heilig Helps Weave Textiles’ Future through Service and Giving

Charles S. Heilig III always knew he wanted be a part of creating something. Today, he serves as president and chief executive officer of Parkdale, a global leader in yarn manufacturing, and president of the North Carolina Textile Foundation. He and his wife, Christa H. Heilig, are also creating extraordinary opportunities by endowing the Charles S. Heilig III Scholarship.

3MT Winner Cipriani Has Many Talents

Textiles master's student Ciera Cipriani is always busy, but doing too much hasn't slowed her down. The University Honors Program alum recently won NC State's fourth annual Three Minute Thesis contest and traveled to Tennessee in February for a regional 3MT competition. Cipriani is now focused on her research, which involves figuring out the chemical reactions that cause dyed fabrics to fade.

With a degree from Wilson College of Textiles -- and a knack for timing -- Park Scholar and Centennial Scholar alumna Jasmine Flood has developed a career as a successful entrepreneur. She founded Riada Adair, a company that creates stationery, lettering, accessories and public art.
