Music and Access: The Class of 2019 Legacy

Park Scholars give back – this mindset is at the core of the program's mission and culture. The Class of 2019 partnered with the Town of Clayton and the Clayton Community Recreational Foundation to work on Harmony Playground, an inclusive park intended to foster fun and friendship among children of all abilities.

Graduation to Vocation: Managing Philanthropic Events

Students for University Advancement president Ellison Lambert is graduating with a degree in parks, recreation and tourism management, and upon graduation she'll be pursuing a career in philanthropic event management. Lambert credits extraordinary experiences in the College of Natural Resources with helping her find her path to giving back.

Inaugural Day of Giving Successful for College of Engineering

During NC State's inaugural Day of Giving, the College of Engineering’s alumni, students and friends rose to the challenge and raised $1,972,851 from 1,564 gifts to support innovative research, scholarships, study abroad and more. The college received more gifts than any other college or program and raised the second-most dollars overall.

Park Scholar Leans Into Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character

Park Scholars are encouraged to build upon the program's four pillars - scholarship, leadership, service and character -- by exploring their inner desires and the world around them. Thanks to Park funding and guidance, Sam Shain has taken full advantage of this ideal by studying abroad and co-founding the Park Philanthropy Council.

College of Education Celebrates a Record Year of Giving

The College of Education capped off its 90th anniversary with gifts and pledges totaling $4,680,964 from a record 1,047 donors, including 171 faculty and staff members. This increase in private giving enables the college to offer more scholarships, study abroad opportunities and research and faculty support.

Park Scholar Giving Nears 100 Percent

Park Scholarships' sixth annual March Madness student giving campaign had impressive results, with 95 percent of current Park Scholars giving back to the program. In addition, 41 percent of Park families donated during this year’s competition between classes, further demonstrating passionate support for the program.

The ‘Tiniest Little Thing’ Spurs Student Philanthropy

Mitchell Moravec, who graduated from NC State in May with degrees in psychology and materials science, decided to support the John C. McIlwee Theatre Endowment in recognition of the way the arts enhanced his student experience.

Student Giving Day 2017

On March 29, Student Government paired with NC State’s Division of Academic and Student Affairs and Office of Annual Giving to host Student Giving Day. The event was part of an initiative to shift the culture of student philanthropy at NC State and was celebrated across campus — its central location being on Stafford Commons outside of Talley Student Union.
