Wellness and Recreation Center Focuses on Mind and Body

A key feature of NC State's 82,000-square-foot Wellness and Recreation Center, scheduled to open next fall, will be the Mind Body Studio. The dedicated space will allow Wellness and Recreation to offer additional classes and programming to help students manage stress, explore the mind-body connection and lead healthier lives. Donor naming opportunities are available for the studio and other spaces throughout the new center.

Scissors and Shovels: A Year of Transformation for CALS

It’s the largest infrastructure expansion in College of Agriculture and Life Sciences history: In the space of one year, six major CALS building projects have broken ground or opened their doors. More are on the way. In addition to multiyear new construction like the NC State University Plant Sciences Building, there are important smaller projects, including the transformational gifts and naming of the E. Carroll Joyner Beef Education Unit and the Dinah E. Gore Teaching and Research Kitchens.

E. Carroll Joyner Beef Education Unit Dedicated

Key partners in North Carolina’s beef industry gathered Sept. 14 to celebrate the naming of NC State's Beef Education Unit after prominent College of Agriculture and Life Sciences alumnus E. Carroll Joyner. Joyner has played an active role in the university's agricultural program since graduating in 1956. He donated his Angus beef herd to NC State to start the North Carolina Cattleman’s Foundation in the 1980s, and his naming gift will help transform beef cattle education, research and extension programs in North Carolina for generations to come.
