Sir Mohamed Mansour’s recent gift to expand the International Student Support Fund is inspired by his own experiences as an international student in need of a second chance. He is also expanding opportunities with the Mansour International Graduate Fellowship and Global Engagement Awards Funds.

NC State Global Celebrates 2023 Global Engagement Exposition Award Recipients

NC State Global recently hosted its annual Global Engagement Exposition to celebrate finalists and recipients of the Outstanding Global Engagement Award, the Jackson Rigney Service Award and the Distinguished Global Alumni Award. University Faculty Scholar Alper Bozkurt and Mary Ann Lila, David H. Murdock Distinguished Professor in the Department of Food Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences, were among the winners.

Senior Vice Provost for Global Engagement Steps Down to Return to Faculty After 16 Years of Leadership

Senior Vice Provost for Global Engagement Bailian Li stepped down from his position and returned to the faculty in the College of Natural Resources effective August 15. NC State achieved many successes under Dr. Li’s leadership, including an incredible growth in the university’s study-abroad programming — programming that was greatly furthered through the generous support of NC State donors.

NC State Prague Supports Ukrainian Refugees

The NC State European Center in Prague was holding its Classic Spring program when Ukrainian refugees began entering the Czech Republic in February. Since the program was not at capacity at the time, NC State students and faculty chose to welcome Ukrainian students into the program’s facilities so they could learn and live in safety during the conflict.

Senior Vice Provost for Global Engagement Returning to Faculty After 16 Years of Leadership

Senior Vice Provost for Global Engagement Bailian Li will step down from his position and return to the faculty in the College of Natural Resources effective August 15. During Dr. Li’s tenure, NC State increased faculty international funding support, launched the Global Learning for All initiative to provide greater virtual-learning options and much more.

Prashant Prabhu ’77, ’79 Wins Distinguished Global Alumni Award

Dr. Prashant Prabhu was recently named the recipient of the 2022 Distinguished Global Alumni Award by NC State’s Office of Global Engagement. The award recognizes Prabhu’s esteemed contributions to his alma mater, success within the sustainable-mobility industry and impact on the world.

Dr. Fred Cubbage Honored With 2022 Jackson Rigney International Service Award

The Jackson Rigney International Service Award recognizes the contributions of a faculty or staff member for the promotion of international understanding and service to the university and/or to the international community over the course of their career. The award is funded by a special endowment and honors the late Dr. Rigney, an agronomist who served NC State for 40 years by bringing a global perspective to his life and work.
