CNR Student Spotlight: Jacob Veilleuxm

Jacob Veilleux, a University Scholar and a fisheries, wildlife and conservation biology major, interned with the with the Illinois River Biological Station in Havana, Illinois, studying Smallmouth Buffalo, the largest commercial fish in the state. His extraordinary NC State experience has been supported by the Ron and Dale Terry Student Assistance and Enrichment Fund and the Hope Valley Forest Scholarship.

Environmental sciences and plant biology double major Logan Kallam studied abroad in Sweden, Germany and the Czech Republic, an experience that challenged him to think more critically about his use of natural resources and natural resource management on a global scale. His eye-opening trip was supported by the Ron and Dale Terry Student Assistance and Enrichment Fund.

College of Natural Resources Researchers Present at Wallenberg Prize Symposium for Young Researchers

Support from the Gunnar and Lillian Nicholson Graduate Fellowship and Faculty Exchange Fund in Forestry enabled Lilian Matallana, Jack Wang, José Jimenez and Edwin Lauer to join 33 other global researchers at the Marcus Wallenberg Prize Symposium and Young Researchers’ Poster Session in Stockholm, Sweden. Wang received third place.

Sederoff Papers Available to Researchers

The NCSU Libraries Special Collections Research Center announced its receipt of the Ron Sederoff Papers, now available to researchers. Sederoff, an internationally known forestry and environmental resources expert who joined NC State's faculty in 1987, is currently Emeritus Distinguished University Professor and Edwin F. Conger Professor of Forestry and Environmental Resources.

CNR Student Spotlight: Jaspreet Pooni

Jaspreet Pooni is passionate about conservation of endangered species and serves as founder and president of Wolves 4 Wolves, a student organization at NC State dedicated to the conservation of endangered wolf species. The fisheries, wildlife and conservation biology major traveled to Namibia to learn more about African ecology and conservation with support from the the College of Natural Resources' Student Assistance and Enrichment Fund.
